Little Wing Camp #FlagUpWingsOut

What happens when you skip town for a breath of thin air in the desert?

What happens when you commit to this next season of training and racing and everything in between?

Little Wing decided to find out, so we flew off to Flagstaff for altitude training camp in March and April. The city of Flagstaff hovers right around 7,000ft of elevation (about twice as high as Bend, OR) and has become somewhat of a mecca for groups training at altitude. It has great options for running on trails and soft surfaces, the iconic Lake Mary Road is right there, and you can drop down into Sedona pretty easily to hit some faster paced workouts when needed. Our days were filled with checking out new trails and coffee shops, putting time in at the gym, testing the latest Oiselle gear on both the roads and on the track (and brunch, obviously), fangirling all the other local or visiting elite runners, recovering with Jasyoga and afternoon naps, eating our way through Sprouts grocery store (we love Sprouts!), and getting caught up on Game of Thrones.

Our time in Flagstaff went fast, and we all successfully came home with some fresh new fitness and next level appreciation for how incredible this all-women elite group truly is.

What happens in Flagstaff hopefully doesn’t stay in Flagstaff - our time spent training at altitude should ideally carry us through the next few months as we continue to run, race, recover, and rumble through this season. See you out there.
