The State of the Athlete Sponsorship with Lauren

The State of the Athlete Sponsorship with Lauren

By

It's hard to catch Fleshman these days, so Sally and I were thrilled to sit down with her in-studio to catch up on the state of sponsorships in the world of Track and Field. We cover a lot of ground in this conversation:

What does/ what could sponsorship mean?

What is it like to sign a deal right out of college?

      A deep dive into #DreamMaternity

The role of USATF in limiting athlete revenue streams

What Oiselle looks for in athlete partners

Dreaming a better future for our sport

I also have to correct an error up front: in talking up this excellent podcast by Alysia Montaño, Molly Huddle, and Roisin McGettigan with Olympic Champion Dawn Harper Nelson (seriously, listen to it!), I mistakenly said Dawn won the Olympics in 2012. In fact, she won in 2008 and got the silver medal in 2012 (by 0.02s!). Sorry for that mistake! Oh, and the figure skater we couldn't remember the name of is Scott Hamilton - his commentary is gold.

Enjoy! Look forward to your feedback and questions!
